Mp3 short facts

Files with the extension .MP3 are compressed audiofiles. The compression shortens the time needed for the download extremly. For play back of MP3-files an MP3-player is required.




Winamp-player in Netscape:
  1. Select OPTIONS - GENERAL PREFERNENCES and there HELPERS
  2. Click CREATE NEW TYPE
  3. Fill in MIME TYPE "application", and in MIME SUB TYPE "mpegaudio".
  4. Fill in FILEEXTENSION "mp3".
  5. With the button BROWSE select file "Winamp.exe" and confirm with O.K.
After downloading an MP3-file, Netscape automatically starts the Winamp-player.
